Lots of Changes

Lots of changes seem to be taking place around here. The biggest one right now is we have officially started potty training as of yesterday. I'd been thinking Micah was ready, and I couldn't deny it anymore when he came up to me & said, "I need to pee in the potty." Then he took off his pants and diaper and peed in the potty. So, he spent a good portion of the day yesterday running around the house barebottomed as he refused to put the diaper back on. He had two accidents--one on the rug and one on the hardwood floor--but peed in the potty 9 times!

Last night, Micah and I went to Target to pick out some big boy underwear. Of course, he wanted the Cars underwear. Luckily, they had his size. He has alternated between bare bottom and underwear today. I think I've asked him 500 times if he has to go pee-pee in the potty and it's only 2:00! Usually when I ask him, he says "No," and the times he has used the potty have been on his own without me asking. I'm hoping since he seems primed and ready that this is a fairly quick process. We'll see...

Micah is also growing by leaps and bounds, which includes his feet. I have been looking for some shoes for him for a while. Target sells Converse brand now, and I've had my eye on a pair of NC State red toddler size Converse tennis shoes for quite some time. Our local Target has always been out of his size, but last weekend, we ventured down to Memphis & found the shoes there! I was so excited...probably more than Micah. But he loves his red shoes & didn't want to take them off once they were on.

Grayson is starting to "talk" a lot more. He loves to squeal & has even attempted a giggle a time or two. He's much more laid back than he was at first. However, he is NOT laid back when it comes to meal time. He wants to eat WHEN he wants to eat! He is now taking 8 oz. bottles & sleeping through the night. I called the pediatrician to ask what to do if 8 oz. didn't satisfy him as we seem to be increasing the amount of formula every couple of days lately. She said to start him on cereal as often as he wanted even if it was before 4 months. So far, we're sticking with formula, but this child is going to eat us out of house & home! I can't even imagine what he'll be like as a teenager...

Both boys are doing great & mom & dad are surviving all their antics for the most part :)

First

We've started bathing Micah and Grayson together now. Here's a picture. They both seem to love it!

3 Months Old

Grayson is 3 months old today. I'm not sure how much he weighs but he's huge! The outfit he's wearing in these pictures is one that Micah wore from about age 5 months to 7 months. Grayson is about to outgrow it! He is holding his head up really well when he's on his tummy. He smiles a lot & has even attempted to laugh a few times. He's sleeping better and usually gets up once a night at around 4:30am for a feeding though he has slept from 7:30pm to 6:00am or 6:30am a couple of times.

Even though it's Grayson's 3 month birthday, we don't want to forget about his big brother. Micah is talking so well now. He can count to 13 and knows his alphabet. He is starting to identify which letters make which sound by you saying the sound and him naming the letter that makes that sound. He's also starting to recognize his name. He's still a picky eater but he seems to be gaining weight as evidenced by tighter pants (which are on the tightest setting of an adjustable waist band so that's not saying much :) ). He has a wonderful sense of humor and tries to make us laugh all the time. Looking at Grayson just amazes me in that Micah has come from that to where he is now is such a short time. Both our boys are growing, learning, and changing. It is going by so fast!
