Micah's daycare experience is getting better and better.
Week 1-crying and clinging to me for dear life when I drop him off; crying when I pick him up.
Week 2-pouting and reluctantly letting me hand him off to the teacher when I drop him off; crying when I pick him up
Week 3 (which really only consists of today)-goes right to his teacher and gives her a hug and doesn't even acknowledge me leaving the room when I drop him off; wants to say "bye-bye" to everyone in the room before we leave when I pick him up.
That's a pretty good progression I think!
Since Micah has been in daycare, he's really tired in the afternoons. He usually falls asleep in the car. Now, Micah has always been easy to get to sleep. When we say "Ready to go night-night?", he says, "Night-night!" and runs for his room. He puts himself to sleep. This hasn't changed since starting daycare, but, now, he'll grab his "blankie" any time of day, say night-night and lay in the middle of the floor or any where else he may be. Last week, I picked him up from daycare Thursday afternoon, and his teacher gave me his blanket to take home to wash since it was the end of the week (he only goes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Micah sees the blanket and grabs it, says "night-night," lays in the floor, and covers himself up. He also does this in the kitchen, on the dog's bed, and on our bed. Hey, I'm just thankful the kid likes to sleep! He definitely gets that from his mom :)
More rambling...I've mentioned before that Micah talks very well for his age. He learns something new everyday it seems. Out of curiousty, I counted all the words he could say (what I could remember) and it was over 100! That does not include his impressive reprotoire of animal sounds. For your viewing pleasure, here is a video of some of his more obscure animal sounds.
